Operations Technology Development (OTD)

In a collaborative effort to develop advanced technologies for the natural gas industry, U.S. utilities are combining interests, expertise, and resources into focused R&D projects through Operations Technology Development company (OTD).

OTD is a not-for-profit corporation led by 29 members who serve over 70 million natural gas consumers in the United States, Canada, and France and supply 60% of the households currently using natural gas in those countries.

Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI)

A community of the world’s leading pipeline companies, and the vendors, service providers, equipment manufacturers, and other organizations supporting the industry.  PRCI’s mission is to collaboratively deliver relevant and innovative applied research to continually improve the global energy pipeline systems.​

PRCI is dedicated to assuring the maximum efficiency of research development and deployment through a highly-leveraged funding model of member and external funding, information sharing, cooperative research development, and the broad dissemination and application of its results.

Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)

With a foundational mission to benefit society, EPRI delivers independent, objective thought leadership and industry expertise to help the energy sector identify issues, technology gaps, and broader needs that can be addressed through effective, collaborative research and development programs.​

EPRI is an independent non-profit energy research, development, and deployment organization, with three specialized labs. EPRI also maintains an employee presence in more than a dozen countries in Europe/Middle East/Africa, as well as Asia, and the Americas through its subsidiary EPRI International Inc. and its Ireland-based research arm, EPRI Europe DAC.

Institute of Electrical Engineers  (IEEE)

IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities.​

There are over 427,000 IEEE members in over 190 countries, more than 64 percent of whom are from outside the United States. IEEE members are engineers, scientists, and allied professionals whose technical interests are rooted in electrical and computer sciences, engineering, and related disciplines.
